Everton striker Romelu Lukaku could cost Chelsea £90million this summer, according to Roberto Martinez.

The Premier League’s top goalscorer has been strongly linked with a return to Stamford Bridge after confirming he intended to leave Goodison Park.

Antonio Conte hopes to enjoy a productive summer transfer window and will target attacking reinforcements – particularly if Diego Costa leaves the club.

Lukaku cost Everton £30m in the summer of 2014 and his international manager, Roberto Martinez, believes he has ‘doubled or trebled’ his valuation in the last three years.

‘It’s difficult to say [if Everton can keep hold of Lukaku],’ Martinez, who managed Lukaku in the Premier League, told FourFourTwo.

What’s important is that as a club, if you lose a player, you lose him on your own terms. Rom has doubled or trebled the initial fee that Everton paid for him.’
Martinez, who is now manager of Belgium, believes Everton landed a bargain deal when they bought Lukaku for £30m.

‘In my eyes, potentially, he was worth more money. We knew he’d become the player he is now,’ he added.
