I WOULD WORK AS IF THIS IS MY FIRST TENURE – WIKE

Rivers State Governor, Nyeson Wike has reiterated his commitment to developmental projects that will put Rivers State on the world map.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony of the construction of Garrison flyover bridge in the state today, Wike, whose commitment to developmental projects, has earned him the appellation, ‘Mr. Project,’ assured the people of Rivers that he would work as if it’s his first term.

“We would  work as if it is our first tenure. Some people will relax when they have the to second tenure. We would not do that.

Jobs should be given to our people, I cannot suffer to bring out money for a project and someone from another state will now be the one benefiting. Let my people supply sands and other things. Let them benefit.”

According to him, 70% of the money meant for the project has been paid and the project is expected to be completed in less than two years.

“ I’ve paid Julius Berger  70% of the money and they are to complete the flyover bridge within  16 months.”

The flyover bridges will purportedly ease off  traffic  jam at these junctions:  Artillery 1 and 2:   517.5 metres,  Rumuokoro 360 metres and Garrison 360 metres in Portsmouth.
