Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo Convenes FEC Meeting

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo this morning charged the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) in the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari who jetted out to London for medical treatment last Sunday.

Osinbajo convened the meeting for 10 am, a departure from the 11 am that had been the commencement of FEC meetings since March when Buhari resumed duties after a lengthy medical vacation that required him to scale down his schedule.

The meeting which is still in progress, has most ministers in attendance. Buhari had before his departure on Sunday written to the National Assembly, transferring presidential powers to Osinbajo.

The President informed the lawmakers that he was not certain when he would return to the country as that would be decided by his doctors.
